It's been SIX YEARS now since the tragic day of Merril's passing and I ask that you all remember, not the day he left, but the days he stayed ... Stayed to say hello, to work, to play The days he stayed to make you smile, The days he stayed just to be a friend, a pest, a clown, a brother, a son.. Days when he was just "Brudda"... Just.........MERRIL ********* *********** We love you and it hurts everyday, but we smile through the tears when we can. Sleep on dear son, dear brother, dear friend.
***********
HOW DIM THE SUN SEEMS NOW WITHOUT YOURSMILE.
.o°• To My Brother, Merril •°o. I will see your smile in every sunrise and feel the warmth of your smile in its rays. I will remember how your tears cleansed my soul in every raindrop and your kiss like the wind on my face. When the birds sing I'll hear your voice resonate through the sky. I'll look at the moon and stars and see the twinkle in your eyes, I'll walk the earth knowing that you are everywhere. Looking down from heaven, waiting for your little sister to get there. Love, Olivia

.o°• PRESS RELEASE •°o. Shortly after 7 o'clock last night Grand Bahama recorded its 15th traffic fatality when a young man police believe to be in his early 20s died on the scene of a horrific two car collision. Both vehicles – a white 2002 Ford Expedition and a purple 2005 Toyota Scion – were totally demolished. The female driver and her two young female passengers, occupants of the Ford Expedition, were rushed to the trauma section of the RandMemorialHospital with serious multiple injuries. Two male passengers in the Toyota were also taken to the hospital for medical treatment. According to initial police information, the deceased, who was travelling west on East Sunrise Highway, suddenly swerved over onto the east bound lane — the lane the Expedition was in heading east — attempting to avoid a rear end collision with another vehicle travelling west. However, the west-bound vehicle stopped and was waiting to turn into Fircroft Road, leaving no escape for the Toyota, which slammed into the oncoming Expedition. The young male driver was trapped in the vehicle for some two hours before fire emergency officers were able to utilize the 'Jaws of life" equipment to extricate him. CLICK HERE FOR NEWSPAPER ARTICLE
Sunrise to Sunset By: Veronica Dorsett To my dearest brother, to my only brother You were like an angel why did you have to leave us this way? Our hearts have been shattered and our minds in disbelief We just want you to know that we will love and never forget you any day.
A handsome young man with a brilliant mind I’ll never forget all the precious memories we shared Through the rough times and the bad You were the one who would always be there!
To Katrina and I you were more than Lil Merril You were “Brudda” The “Brudda” we loved and could depend on if we needed him But now that you're gone the SUNSHINE seems so dim!
If I could see you again, I would smother you in hugs and kisses And when Jesus comes I will Dear God Bless your soul and may you peacefully rest Because “Brudda” you were the most beautiful SUNRISE but a very tragic SUNSET!
R.I.P. “Brudda”

thinking about you. / Rachel Smith (Friend)
Merril I always think about. You will always remain in my heart:-)
He received the Architect Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Architect Programme at the College of the Bahamas.
He has worked with Donald Dean at The Architects Inc. and has helped in drawing plans for the new Police Station, Colina Insurance Building, Star General, and many other beautiful structures; not to mention many private homes.
He still did plans for his clients while working as a Slot Technician at the Isle of Capri Casino
An Amazing Friend ....
He loved Football... his favorite team was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and he would always take a loss to heart! We all know the glory he was in the year the Bucs went to the Superbowl and won!
He met the entire Miami Dolphins Football Team two years ago while working as a fill-in Sports Caster for Cool 96 FM Radio and he was awe sruck the entire time!
He always thought he was such a handsome devil... so he created the alias Da Red Devil.... which he used as his email address.
Merril also, if anything, loved to play dominos! He thought he and Xavier were the best team in the world! And could trash talk more than you could imagine.
Lil' Brother.....
Lil' Merril was a BIG brother to two but a little brother to six. Carla, Sean, Kevin, Melvern, Jennifer and Merrilen. How proud we all were of him and his accomplishments thus far.
Merril and Remorn Allen had this entire town under the impression that without a doubt they were brothers with different mothers. If you met Rufus Allen you would know why they were so successful in their scam. Rufus was Remorn's father bu had red hair so any gullable soul would fall for it each and everytime.
Big Brudda....
His two youngest sisters Katrina & Veronica never called him Merril.... they only called him "Brudda" because Katrina as a baby was never able to say the name Merril so she just would simply call him ........brother.
Olivia always thought of Merril as the average big bro who nagged and teased her as a child, but says he is the reason she is WHO she is to this day. Growing up he influenced her to be just like him. She took on the Tom Boy role after years of him refusing to play games with her. No barbie dolls please -- get the baseball and bat, then we can play! Merril even got her hooked onto Football!
They would wait for pre-season every year together as if the world stopped when Football season ended especially looking out for BATTLE OF THE BAYS when Olivia's team Green Bay would play Tampa Bay!
This year they were planning a trip to Wisconsin to see the two teams play at Lambeau Feild, Green Bay just next week Sunday.
Football Season will never be the same without him yelling at the TV, monitoring ESPN 24/7 or running around like some lunatic during a Tampa Bay game!! Go Bucs! We miss you Merril!
